Samarinda: PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk (TLDN), or TPA, extends its support to the world of education by awarding scholarships to undergraduate (S1) and postgraduate (S2) students during the TPA 2023 Education Scholarship Award Ceremony, which took place on September 13, 2023, at the TPA Representative Office (KPW) in Samarinda, East Kalimantan.
The TPA 2023 Education Scholarships were granted to 21 students from the company’s operational area (ring 1) in East Kalimantan. These scholarship recipients are part of the 5th generation, with previous related programs being implemented in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022. The TPA 2023 Education Scholarships are provided as educational expenses for the academic year 2023/2024 to financially disadvantaged students from TPA’s operational areas across East Kalimantan pursuing their education at various universities in Indonesia.
These youths of East Kalimantan are pursuing their education at institutions such as the Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Brawijaya, Institute Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Mulawarman, Universitas Islam Negeri Aji Muhammad Idris, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, and Universitas Borneo.
” 57 students have benefited throughout the five years of the TPA Education Scholarship program. We hope the TPA Education Scholarships can assist the recipients, allowing them to focus on their education. Through this educational scholarship, we hope that these students, who are the youths of East Kalimantan, can contribute with the knowledge they acquire to develop their hometown and even contribute to the broader development of the nation,” said the Head of the TPA Representative Office, Suparno.
On the other hand, Suparno explained that the TPA 2023 Education Scholarships are one of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental (CSRE) programs as an agricultural company, which actively participates and contributes to the world of education. This commitment is made to support education, especially for the youths from the company’s operational areas (ring 1), ensuring they receive a proper education.
“I am grateful to TPA for helping cover our expenses while we were in college. The TPA 2023 Education Scholarships have allowed me and my friends to receive an education on par with other students. I hope that this program can continue to be implemented every year so that our younger siblings can also experience quality education without worrying about costs,” said Muhammad Haidar Al Ghifari, one of the recipients of the TPA 2023 Education Scholarship, who is a student in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia.
