JAKARTA – In commemorating PT Teladan Prima Agro Tbk’s 19th anniversary (TLDN), an environmental care initiative was conducted by planting mangrove seedlings and tree saplings on Thursday, June 1, 2023. This activity was carried out in Jakarta and East Kalimantan.
The mangrove seedlings in Jakarta were planted in the Mangrove Ecotourism Area, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta. Simultaneously, planting mangrove seedlings and other tree seedlings was also carried out in East Kalimantan, specifically in the operational areas of TLDN, including Talisayan, East Kutai, Kutai Kartanegara, and Paser.
“Coinciding with the 19th anniversary of Teladan Prima Agro, we have conducted a beneficial activity to preserve the environment in this region. This is something extraordinary because life is not just about humans but also about nature and the environment,” said Iwa Kartiwa Hudaya, Independent Commissioner of TLDN, during the Teladan’s Mangrove planting event at the Mangrove Ecotourism Area (PIK), North Jakarta, on Thursday (6/1/2023).
In the future, TLDN hopes that planting mangrove seedlings and tree seedlings will contribute to the preservation of the environment. According to repository.ipb.ac.id, mangrove forests protect coastlines, prevent seawater intrusion, and serve as habitats, feeding grounds, nurseries, and spawning grounds for various aquatic organisms. They also act as microclimate regulators, process toxic waste, produce oxygen, and absorb carbon dioxide.
